The Yin Yoga Teacher Training (YYTT) is a 50 hour course, and here's what that means:
For yoga teachers who are registered with Yoga Alliance (at the RYT-200 level or higher), completion of this YYTT will provide 50 Continuing Education credits (CE's) for a specialty in Yin Yoga.
Even if you're not a yoga teacher, you will receive a 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training certificate upon completion (or an optional 40-hour certificate of completion if you choose to skip the practice teaching assignments.)
Since nobody owns Yin Yoga, no certificate is required to teach it – but for those who seek a solid structure within which to start guiding yin, this course provides the skills and training to do so.
If you're considering applying for a job as a yin yoga teacher, this certificate will prove you've had 50 hours of training; however, some employers require a minimum RYT-200 certification, which must be earned separately at a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
If you've already completed your RYT-200, the CE's you receive for this course will prove you've had in-depth training as Yin Yoga Teacher and will also be more than enough to meet YA's minimum of 10 CE contact hours required every 3 years.
