About Me
Hi, thanks for visiting my website. I'm Devi, and I help people rest, recover, and reconnect with themselves through yoga, intuitive movement, and plant-based living.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve developed my approach to wellness through extensive training along with teaching tens of thousands of students at yoga studios and online. I owned a yoga studio for a decade, and I've developed one of the world's leading teacher trainings in Yin Yoga.
Today, I share classes through my Daily Yoga app and my YouTube channel. I'm also a regular contributor to Yoga Journal and author of the Chair Yoga Deck, published by Penguin Random House (2026).
I began doing yoga over twenty years ago as an addict struggling with depression and chronic pain. I was looking for help, but instead found that yoga increased my stress and insecurity. Its alignment rules seemed to be designed for very different bodies than mine, and I felt ashamed of my failure to do the poses correctly.
Everything changed when I discovered Yin Yoga, which taught me to trust my instincts about how to move my body and release stress. I learned an intuitive way to stretch that was more effective for increasing flexibility and calming my nervous system.
I also learned how much of my mental and emotional stress was stored in my body's fascia and connective tissues. This was the root cause of my hormonal and nervous-system imbalances that had been manifesting as depression, weight gain, fogginess, and joint pain.
I now practice yoga every day to release emotional stress and physical tension. I've developed a program that's simple and sustainable, with short daily routines designed to support flexibility, tension release, confidence, and calm.
My philosophy is based on the Functional Approach to Yoga created by my Yin Yoga teacher, Paul Grilley. It boils down to this: It's not about how your yoga looks – it's about how it feels. This is the basis of my Somatic Yoga, Meditation and Fascia Release practices, and it's what participants learn in my 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training.
