My classes are getting bigger with offering Yin Yoga, and the demand for private sessions has increased since my training, which gave me more confidence offering Yin. I learned how to design a balanced safe class and I feel comfortable advising modifications. |

Meet Your Instructor
Hi, I'm Devi. I help people find rest, recovery and healing through Yin Yoga.
Twenty years ago I was an addict with depression, anxiety and severe body pain. I turned to yoga for healing, but instead it increased my stress and insecurity because of alignment rules that were designed for very different bodies than mine. I almost quit until I discovered the intuitive practice of Yin Yoga. I learned to follow my instincts to connect with a deep well of inner resources for healing and transformation. Now at 47, I’m devoted to sharing this approach and helping others. I've had extensive training and hands-on experience with yin. I owned my own studio for 10 years and I've taught tens of thousands of students. I've been sharing my yin yoga teacher trainings internationally since 2013. I now teach from my online yoga studio where I'm passionate about sharing the gifts that yoga has given me with other yogis all over the world. |
The training helped me feel much more mentally prepared to teach yin classes at the gym where I'm employed. I continue to unwrap all the elements that I learned, not only of yin yoga but on being a yoga teacher. |
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the overall time commitment?
To get your certificate as soon as possible, plan to spend about 10 hours a week with video, audio and reading in addition to the weekly live session. If you need more time to absorb the material, you'll be welcome to take longer – just submit your final certification material anytime before the end of the year.
How much practice vs learning/studying?
About half of the training hours will be experiential, meaning you'll follow guided Yin Yoga and meditation practices. The other half is made up of video/audio tutorials, reading, writing and practice teaching.
